Memories of Anamaria
The Group was distraught to learn in December 2011 that Anamaria Ucros finally lost her fight with cancer and passed away on 13th December.
Her enthusiasm, boundless energy and love for life will be sorely missed by everyone. As a core member of the reunion team, she attended with Wolfgang every event and hosted a superb reunion in Rio in 2004 which was a spectacular success.
Below are just some of the comments from her AMP friends ...
"We were lucky to be with her in so many good times and learn from the strength and joy that she always showed"
"Very sad to lose someone with so much "joie de vivre." There are lots of memories embodied in T-shirts for many of our gatherings. I still have my "Anamaria and the Mamas and the Papas" T shirt from the first week of our AMP program"
"It is so sad when one of your friends leave at such a youthful age. She was so full of energy and life"
"It seems impossible that she is gone. I don't recall ever seeing Anamaria at a time when she was anything other than cheerful, vivacious and full of love. The world is a poorer place without her"
"Let us all celebrate her incredible life as we grieve her loss. I imagine her dancing with Angels right now."
"Lots of great memories. I will remember her as our goalkeeper in the 5aside football game against the college kids at the University of Pennsylvania sports hall. I also remember her turning up late but always getting things done. Organising a fantastic reunion in Rio. Supplying Brazil tops for two world cups. Her shoulder dancing at the Munich beer festival. Her entertaining stories and her smile."
"Her enthusiasm was contagious, her uniqueness unabashed and her love of life unequalled."

It all started in Philadelphia ...
In the process of moving house, I found the image below. It was drawn in Wharton in 1999 - I can't remember by whom but I can remember the targets. It was three of the AMP footballers who took on the younger grads at football (the 'real' football!). You may spot Anamaria, Al and myself. Al and I undoubtedly benefited from some artistic licence ..... but Anamaria was captured perfectly.
